In this project we researched how to create a product for people with dementia. This project was conducted outside of the department of Industrial Design. As a result, I had the most expertise within the project group. As a result, I learned to guide less experienced students in following a sound design process. Explaining the use of several programs, showing the use of visualization. Even going a step further than the course asks for by creating a journey.
I took on the role as a consultant as well, by creating UX design together with the team and explaining the decisions made using clear language. Without jargon, understood by all team mates and coaches. The end result is a product service system enabling caregivers to record a podcast of reminiscing. I improved skills in creating an easy to grasp concept that incorporates needs of caregivers and people with dementia. To support the interplay between the digital and physical aspect of the concept.
